LITHOCHROME® Colorwax™ is a premium quality, color-matched system designed for curing exterior concrete flatwork that has been colored with CHROMIX® Admixtures for Color-Conditioned® Concrete, LITHOCHROME® Color Hardener or Emerchrome® Floor Hardener. It is recommended for curing when a uniform appearance is desired and the concrete will be allowed to weather naturally.
LITHOCHROME Colorwax applied as a curing membrane over freshly finished concrete will retain the moisture in the concrete, providing more complete cement hydration which results in higher strengths, lower shrinkage and better overall durability long term.
What is efflorescence?
Most efflorescence is created by calcium hydroxide, a product inherent in the hydration of concrete, reacting with carbon dioxide in the air to form calcium carbonate, a white crystalline deposit that appears on the surface of concrete.
LITHOCHROME Colorwax impedes this process and reduces the likelihood of efflorecence formation.
Efflorescence can mask the surface of color-conditioned® concrete, making it appear much lighter and uneven.
