SCOFIELD ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENT OF NEW PRESIDENT
LOS ANGELES, CA . . . L. M. Scofield Company has announced the appointment of Harry Moats as President and Chief Operating Officer, effective January 2, 2007. Mr. Moats brings substantial experience in management and operations, as well as construction management. He previously worked at Scofield from 1990 through 1998 as its Operations Manager.
In addition to other senior positions in construction, from 1999 through 2006, Mr. Moats served as President of Precision Concrete, the largest concrete contracting company in the Southeast, and a long term Scofield customer. During his time at Precision, Mr. Moats oversaw a period of growth to reach seven divisions and up to 650 employees with sales of over $50 million per year.
Mr. Moats is well known through his community service and professional contributions. He is a current member of the American Concrete Institute Board of Directors and is serving on ACI Committee E703 - Concrete Construction Practices.
On Wednesday, January 24th, at 8:00 A.M., Harry Moats will make a presentation on "Vertical Decorative Concrete", at World of Concrete, Las Vegas, Nevada.
The position of president was previously held by Phillip J. Arnold from 1994 through 2006. Under his leadership the company has experienced unprecedented growth and has introduced a significantly broader range of systems.
Mr. Arnold has moved to the position of Chairman and CEO. In this role he will continue to oversee the company’s strategic directions and continue participating in numerous professional associations in the building industry to promote the values of concrete construction as an aesthetically attractive and environmentally sound material. He remarked,

Mr. Arnold is committed to the principles of green building and holds credentials as LEED AP (accredited professional). He is an honorary member of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) and serves as a member of the board of directors of the Landscape Architecture Foundation.
The reorganization and expansion in senior management roles has been made as a continuation of the company’s aggressive expansion in manufacturing and logistics to address dynamic growth in architectural and decorative concrete systems to better serve customers now and for years to come.
